Seems like everyone is just about as puzzled by a Bec scope as I am. Frankly, I never heard of it. Chinese? Anyway, (1) you've got it, (2) you like it, (3) it passed your fog test, so....why not use it? You weren't just going to trash it, were you? 30mm is the big thing in Europe, but not so big on this side of the Great Water. There appears to be no significant difference between 30mm and 1"; at any rate not enough to create a 30mm fad here. Nevertheless, most manufacturers offer rings for 30mm. Tasco Mfg.# 780C $14.99, Weaver Mfg.# 49121 $23.56.

You can find 30mm rings in most shops tha fit weaver-type bases. Price varies but most should run around $10 =/-. Do not try to mount a 30mm scope with 1" rings.

    rugster,
Good quality 30mm rings will cost you at least $25.00 to 30.00, and that's wholesale. Example, Redfield wholesale avg. $27.00 set. Weaver, $20.00. Leupold, $25.00 to 30.00. I like the Leupold QD if you're using Weaver type mounts.

What's with these BEC scopes you're talking about, Never heard of them??

BEC scopes: good value for the money. Had one that i to purchased from Sportsmans guide for my marlin 25n 22lr. with previous scopes it was an ok shooter. with the BEC scope i found it very easy to connect with field mice at 150 yards consistenly from a stable rest. I to found the optics very clear and sharp. my brother now owns the rifle and uses it for crows around his house. he also loves the scope/rifle. hope this helps. good luck!

Thanks for all the advice,Im not to familiar with 30mm scopes. The Weaver mount is what I want to mount it with,so since weaver makes mounts Ill give it a try.I didnt know it was a 30mm scope when I bought it they didnt tell it in the catalog.Any way the worst that can happen is I might have to take it off if I dont like it down the road.It should hold up on the little Hornet any way. I have a couple of the Handi Rifles, and they have really served me well.If I dont want to bang or get wet one of my Higher quality rifles.I will grab one of them, they make a good truck gun.Plus Ive got two nephews I hope to start out on 22s then move up to the Hornet. They are about as safe as it gets, and one of my nephews is four and hes already shooting the 22 I hold it for him of course. One of these days we may have kids of our own to pass them along to.When I want a new gun thats what I tell my wife, and it works for me.

You didn't mention size of objective. High mounts may be required if over 44mm objective. Might save you the hassel of return and reorder.

    will270win,
Thanks for the compliment. Flattery wil get you every where. What can I do for you today??

rugster, got your e-mail. I replied to it. And by the way, recently I bought a set of Tasco 30mm rings on the other auction site for $13.00 including shipping. They were the older steel ones, with a little different mount set-up. However it was still a good buy. The later ones are made of aluminum which I didn't care for. They wholesale for $7.00 a set if that tells you anything.

Keep an eye out on the auctions.

I have a BEC 3x9x42 on a 22mag I was so impressed with I ordered another before I had a rifle to put it on.I recently put it on a bull barrel 10-22 and at about 30 yards it will not adjust down enough.(prints about 5 inches high)I am not ready to blame the scope because its probably made fo a center fire.I have a Handi-Rifle that I like with a 3x9x40 scope.A few months ago I put a 3x12x52 30mm on it.The new scope was too large on the small rifle. It shot fine, but it took the Handi out of Handi-Rifle ,so I put the old scope back on it.
