would that single shot in 7.62x39 have very much recoil http://www.rossiusa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=R762MB&category=RIFLE I would have a decent scope on it so that would dampin it a little. Also i would be shooting just regular surplus and some huting ammo throught it, Yes i will hunt whitetail with it. so what will the recoil be?
Thankyou and Godbless0 -
Well the both together sounds more like the logical answer,You didnt mention the caliber of the firearm. But with the stock recoil reducer alone should be sufficient.
Best!!

SP. Run a few rounds thru a 577 T-Rex or a 700 NE. If thats not enough poke for you, pull the 3 murcury dampers out of the stock (remember the video of the arab flying backwards? That was with the dampers).
Brakes work well but they are loud, and according to Newtons law, the better they work the louder they are.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Unlike the mighty Saxonpig, I am recoil sensitive. I have used Pachmayer decelerator pads with good results. Other posters here have avowed that sorbothane pads are even better. Muzzle breaks will help, but you certainly pay a price in increased muzzle blast. 0 -
SaxonPig is the man... what about 50 cal Mr. Pig. I am like He Dog and like to come home from the range without my sholder hurting too much. I also use Pachmayer products on my '06. If I just used it for hunting I would not need a pad but I also like to shoot targets and will go through 50 plus rounds at the range. JMHO

I shoot firearms that most would not. 535-600 grain bullets at from 2350-2500 FPS from 11 pound rifles with no muzzle brakes or recoil reducers. Recoil is something you can get acustomed to. Start with lower velocity loads and work up to your recoil tolerance.

I sometimes use a cheater bag while bench shooting. It doesn't
help the recoil, but keeps the old shoulder from hurting.
Don't send flowers when I die. Send money now, I can buy more ammo.0 -
I have magnaported all my heavy recoiling guns and that seems to help a lot. Another thing I do when I know I am going to be shooting the heavy recoiling guns is to shoot trap or skeet for a couple weekends before. This helps remind me how and where to hold the gun in tight and helps acclimate me to the recoil. 0
