Mini 14 mags
Any one out there have experiences(good or bad) with high cap aftermarket mags for the mini 14? Western Metal Products,U.S.A. brand, triple K, Promag, etc... The reason I ask is I see a huge price difference from original ruger 30 rd mags and the aftermarket versions. Is this price difference more of a collectibilty(scarce hard to get original oem)issue or feed and function? In short, Do the aftermarket mags WORK in the mini 14?(Or is it one of those you get what you pay for deals?) Any info appreciated! Rayzor25

Which after market brands of these 20 or 30 round mags are the best? I am sure the Ruger brands are great but they are too expensive for my taste. I already know the USA brand is junk from my AR-15. 0 -
I USED FEDERAL ORDANCE WHICH FUNCTIONED FLAWLESSLY .4 -30 ROUNDERS ALL WORKED GREAT .JUST SOLD THEM ALL ON GB CAUSE I SOLD MY MINI 14 ,GOT $30-$35 A PIECE.HOPE THIS HELPS

PMI's are just as good as the factory. They'll cost alot more than a USA junk, but will be half the price of a factory. I've got/had dozens of the PMI's and not one gave me a single problem. Not one.
Blue 20 rnds should run you between $30 & $50. The 30's and 40's are slightly more, new.
I never tried them, but I heard that those plastic Eagle 35 rounders and Thermold work great also. Try them at your own risk, but I would stick with the PMI's if you don't want to go broke buying those over priced factory mags. GD0 -
Is there Thermolds out there specifically for the mini 14 or do the same ones that work in an AR 15 work in the mini 14? 0 -
There are Thermolds made specifially for the Mini 14 and others made specifially for the AR15. The Ramline 30rd was the only one designed to fit both the Mini 14 and the AR15 with just the one mag. 0 -
I use Eagle mags in mine.Never had 1 jam yet.I have 2 extra ones that are N.I.W.and they hold 35rds. in each + they clip together.I will sell the 2 mags for $75.00 + shipping.E-mail rokkmann1@aol.com 0 -
Thanks for the comments. Right now I'm going to look for some high quality 10 rounders and leave the high cap shooting time to my AR. They are easy to get and way cheaper. 0
