AR-15 Questiona
Actually two questions -
Im looking into buying an AR 15, who makes the better gun between colt and bushmaster? Why? (Im presently leaning towards the bushmaster because of the price)
The other question is: does anyone know of a company whome sells a cheekpiece that will fit on the new "post ban" fixed telescopic stock of the bushmaster?
Thanks guys - I appreciate your suggestions.

I'd say they were actually about the same as far as quality. No mater what brand of AR you get, you still won't be able to outshoot it. Just my opinion.
Colts seem to demand a little more premium and hold their value better, but you can usually find some great deals on used bushmasters which aren't any different.
As long as you stick in the mainstream brands, you shouldn't have any problems. Colt, Bushmaster, Olympic, Rock River, Armalite, ASA, ect.
Also, you might avoid a Hesse based. Its the only AR that I've actually ever heard anyone complain about, though the complaints were usually based on user error. I don't or never have owned a Hesse, and for all I could know, they could be a darn fine weapon.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I think I've seen those cheek pieces on Bushmaster's web site. 0 -
You would not be unhappy with a Bushmaster for a shooter. If you are looking for a collector's piece then go Colt. I have shot the Bushmaster a lot and it is a great rifle.

the colts are more money and not really worth the price unless your looking to keep it for awile then sell it for a profit. Stickin Colt changed some of their parts on the post ban rifles...uh I know cause someone told me that...yeah thats it...
New gun??? No, honey, I've had it for years.0 -
woops pressed enter too soon, anyways the bushmaster is a terrific gun and well worth it over the price of a colt if you want to have fun with it.

If your looking to shoot matches and stuff, you may check and make sure you get an A2 sight rather than an A1. I see alot of bushmasters with the A1 style sight sold pretty cheap, and first time buyers don't know the difference. Makes a great plinker, but its so much better to have the elevation adjustable A2 sight.
