Trying to get an idea as to what a Belgium Browning Sweet 16, Serial# X44470, might be worth. I believe it was made in 1951, plain barrel and in very good to excellent condition. I have a chance to buy it and neither the seller or I really know what the value is. Thanks.

The letters "S,R, and A" stand for the model. Standard 16 gauges had an "R" prefix, sweet 16's used an "S"....from what I can find it falls into the units that came to the US in 1954....these numbers were S2501 thru S24000. They came with a plain, soid matte rib, and vent rib barrels. Price is probably about right.

Rembrandt, Thanks a lot for the information. I believe I'm sold on it.
