Remington Model 81
I have owned a remington model 81 in 300 savage for about 2 years now and I have never attempted to clean it due to lack of knowledge of how to disassemble this rifle, if anyone would be able to describe the procedure for cleaning this rifle I would be very appreciative.
Thanks

I've always liked the looks of this rifle. Anyone have one??? How do they shoot? Would the 35 be the best cal to have. 0 -
hello-have wondered that myself, what have you found out? 0 -
[V] Don't even think about it !!! The 81 can not handle the pressure of the .308 Win . Plus the action and magazine will be too short and it would kick the bejesus out of you . The 81 in 300 Sav. has pretty good resale value , if in decent shape . Sell it and buy a .308 , That is my humble opinion and advice . 0 -
first you would need a new barrel, I don't believe a .308 reamer will 'clean up' a .300 savage chamber. best leave it as/is. (you realy would'nt be gaining much anyway) 0 -
