Help needed for Star Firestar
I am in need of an extractor for my Star Firestar .40 cal with a Starvel finish. Can anyone recommend someone that would have one. I have tried all of the regular sources ie. Gun Parts, Sarco, etc With Star out of busines and Interarms gone as well this is turning into a nightmare. Without an extractor the gun isn't even a good single shot.

RODNEY, Rodney, rodney! Bonifacio Echiverria was one of the founders of the company that manufactured Star pistols. It's (he's) not part of a location. As far as I know they went out of business about 3 years ago, and Llama is the sole Spanish handgun survivor. Growr--I think your quest should not be too difficult. You know that in the case of discontinued guns parts are often available based upon the canabalization of other guns. You should check back with the Gun Parts Corp. periodically, as these things can come in today and be gone a couple of days later. They usually operate on a first-come-first-serve basis and don't accept reservations; so you've got to keep trying. Try the Jack First Co. Try the smaller gun parts vendors listed in the classified ads of the Shotgun News and the Gun List. Try the Want Ads Forum (here--Gunbroker). Believe it or not, I actually have what you need, being in possession of a Starvel finished Starfire found in the South Umpqua River this no doubt makes Jokor3 happy) by swimmers and turned into the local P.D. It's not hot (probably lost by an unknown salmon fisherman), and they sent it up to me for repair as it was getting a little rusty around the edges and the springs were totally rusty. But--what would I tell them? Just try all of the above sources, repeatedly if necessary, and eventually you'll turn one up. Tell them that you're willing to take a blue one also--it would probably look O.K. as is, but you can have it nickel plated if you're fussy. This will double your chances of getting a part. 0 -
