Shotgun Info
I have an old shot gun I am seeking info on.
It's a side by side 12 Ga. with 30" barrels and double triggers.
On both sides of the reciever it is engraved with a bird dog.
On the top of the reciever under the left barrel it is stamped "40XXX PAT'D", and under the right barrel it's stamped "12"
On the top of the left barrel it is stamped "Western Arms Corp., Ithaca, N.Y." between two arrows.
On top of the right barrel it is stamped "Long Range Gun" between two arrows.
On The bottom of the left barrel it is stamped "LLH" "4 + 40XXX".
On the bottom of the right barrel it is stamped "LLH" "2 +2 3/4 chamber".
Thanks for any info you can provide

Any one know of a shotgun manufacturer hs and b. Thought it could be hubbard spencer and bartlett. 0 -
I looked in the back of the blue book to the Store/Brand Crossover list.
The Sears Model 21 was made by High Standard (High Standard Model K2011)
The Sears Model 583.20 was made by High Standard as the Flight King
The 25 after the 20 would probably signify the specifics of that model. Not sure exactly.
So then I looked at the High Standard Flite King, and there are alot of different models. From the wide range of guns, I can put its manufacture somewhere between 1960-1973.
I then looked in my Gun Traders Guide. Not much listed her. Says the Model 21 has the same general specs as the Model 20 but with a vent rib, and adjustable choke. Then I looked at the Model 20. Says Hammerless. 5-shot. 26-30" barrels, ect.
Then I looked back in the Blue Book at the Model 20.
It lists the Sears model 20 as the High Standard ?pump.
Hope this info helps.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
The sound of a 12 gauge pump clears a house fatser than Rosie O eats a Big Mac !0 -
having worked for Sears for 13 years ,I am somewhat familiar with the 3digits . two digits format. It was Sears ancient cataloging system for parts ordering for almost everything Sears carried. Without the proper microfish you cannot access the parts listings. It has no rime or reason as to model numbers as we know them in the gun trade.
