I HAVE A TURKISH MAUSER 1938 MODEL, CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO TAKE IT APART. I PRESUME THE BARR. BANDS HAVE TO COME OFF. ANY HELP APP. THANKS 0 -
Your top ban comes off first, just below the band you have to push the bar in to get the top band off. The second band usually has a screw through it, just unscrew it and tap it out with a small punch(if you can't unscrew just tap it out). Once you have those off you have 2 screws on the bottom take them out and your gun should come apart. Also the hole that is in the stock is for taking the bolt apart. 0 -
A little additional help. The handguard is held at the rear by a lip on the front of the action so the front of the handguard has to be lifted first. The rear sight will have to be lifted and the handguard turned crosswise to clear the sight blade. Also, the cleaning rod should be removed before trying to remove the front band. The cleaning rod screws into the the stock recess (right hand thread).
