Beretta 96

Does anyone have experience or information about the beretta 96 in black stainless and how well this finish holds up? How new is this finish on the beretta's and can the plastic guide rod in these gun be replaced with a metal rod?

  Is the Beretta 96 ( the g or fs ) an all steel frame gun or is it a polymer frame. Thank you, Joe

  Gun finishes, other than plain stainless, never seem to live up to a truly long lasting one. All metals seem to get their share of nicks and scratches anyway. If you want a gun for use and enjoy, plan on it. If you want one to collect, keep it in the case.
