You get what you pay for. Buy a used 700 instead.
A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.0 -
The barrel can not be changed where as a 700's can.
Accuracy reports show most to be in the MOA (or better) class.
They are marketed for the "box a year" (and first time) hunter, and serve that purpose well.
If your looking for a rifle to customize or want to change calibers than go with the used 700.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
I have one.Buy a Savage. 0 -
all you need to do is hold one and compare it side by side to a 700. i think it's a decent gun for the money, but it feels clunky in the hands to me. i have seen some good reports on the gun in some gun mags. 0 -
Go with a 700 instead of the 710
If money is an issue, go with a Savage
Just picked my Savage up today
In 270 with the extras out the door for $375
(That's including the "CA" tax)0 -
From handling one, and talking to friends, I would recommend the
700 instead of the 710. A gunsmith friend told me the 710 is for
folks that keep it in the closet until deer season, take it out and
shoot it 2 or 3 times a year. The closest thing to a disposable gun
he has seen.
Don't send flowers when I die. Send money now, I can buy more ammo.0 -
You are better off buying a Savage than the 710. I had one and ended sending it back to Remington 3 times to get it fixed and I didn't fire a shot out of it. I traded it off as soon as it came back the third time. They would make good boat anchors 0 -
