    Serial #?
    Is the trigger guard brass?
Are the grips wood, or do they look like a piece of wood suspended in plastic?

Serial Number would help alot, as well as a desrcription of the frame. On average, I would say $250 plus or minus; yours probably on the plus side because of the box and 60's era.

As long as we are on Bearcats, I just bought an Old Model (Brass Grip Frame) with a 'G' Prefix three digit serial number in the 700 range. So, this makes it a 195X ??

Also, as far as I know, they all had what I call gutter sights, right? Well this one may have been shooting low or something; it has two minature sight beads, one on each side of the rear gutter sight. This brings up point of aim and puts the front sight in better view. Have any of you ever seen this? I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Does it look like this? Or, does it have a blue frame and medallions on the grips?

Here is pic of the rear sight beads I mentioned on the earlier post.

Interesting sights. Unfortunately, such mutilation drops the value from the $500-600 range down to the $100-200 range.

It looks exactly like the one in thw link. My sights have not been altered. Except for the marks on the cylinder pin, there isn't a blemish on ti that I can find.

    Thanks,

    Neil.
How did you download the picyure? I tried and all I got was a bunch of numbers and gibberish. I seem to be having real problems downloading any pictures pposted on these forums.
I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

If I could find the directions, I would read them.

All I did was click on the link, and it came up. If that doesn't work for you Gino, try to cut-and-paste the link into your browsers address window; that's worked for me other times when I couldn't get links to work.

If Duane is saying that his gun has the same kind of sights as Roy's, I may have to eat my words. I used to own an early one, #Z025 (it was stolen before I got my safe), but never saw or heard of the bead sights. Live and learn.

Sorry about that. The rear sight on my pistol is simply a notch on the top strap of the frame. The front sight is a simple blade. There are no pins or beads at all.
In checking the piece, I find that the serial is 20xxx, and there is a set of instructions/parts list in the box. The trigger guard seems to be an alloy of some sort (gold colored) and the frame is black.
So, am I correct in assuming that the value of my pistol is around $250? Where did the comment about $500-600 come from.

    Thanks,

    Duane
