Walther P-1
I hopefully will be getting a NIB 1980's manufacture Walther P-1. Any persons out there with experience with this firearm? Any Ammo advice? I've heard that the older guns do not like +p ammo, but the one I am getting has the extra support of the updated designs. Thanks!

I bought one of these things, W German Border Police surplus, I think, a while ago. Just had an opportunity to finally shoot it last weekend. Anyway, if you load 6 rounds in the mag it will shoot 1, maybe 2, and then the follower in the mag 'hangs up' and you get a failure to feed. Loading with 2 rounds works ok. This happened a bunch of times, and with both mags that came with it. Both are 'Walther' mags. Anybody else had this problem? Suggested fixes? [xx(]
Thanks in advance!0 -
I seen some here on gun broker,my neighbor bought one from SOG inc.It came with holster gun cleanig kit etc.But I would not shoot +p ammo in it.However for the money it far exceeded what I thought it would be.It should be worth the wait!!

These have an aluminum alloy frame--why beat it to death? There are some very effective less-than-+P loads available. 0 -
As Der said, aluminum frame. Forget any + P rounds. Just beat itself
to death. Extra support? From personal experience, A good arm
but consider the arm a "USE ONLY WHEN REQUIRED".I WOULD ADVVISE AN ORIGINAL. I know that they are inexpensive from SOG, etc. Not my cup of tea. PLUS, a nine, does not even come close to the cross sectional
dentisty of a .45. My $00.02.0
