mags for Marlin Camp 9?
Can you tell me which pistol mags can be used with this neat little carbine? I believe they're S&W, but what models?
I think a pistol and carbine that share mags would be a great Home Defense / Go-To combo for my wife. (Our Mossy 590 is a little too much for her, and most .45's have too large a grip for her hands.)
If a firearm is too much (size, weight, recoil) for her then she won't practice!

If it has not been modified it is the Model 59. There are conversion units for it to convert to Browning High Power and Beretta 92 and others. 0 -
These are reliable, fun shooting little carbines.I cant figure out why Marlin quit making them unless its this liaility crap. The guns are real sellers.
Good Luck.

brisco,
If yopu like the idea of a carbine and pistol that can share mags, check out the Ruger PC9. It uses the same mags as the Ruger pistols. You can usually find aftermarket 30-rounders for it for pretty cheap if you like lotsa bullets.

I bought some thirty rounders pretty reasonable thru Cheaper than Dirt

The 9mm Marlin Camp Carbine uses the S&W Model 469 (or 669 in stainless) magazines. These were pre-ban 12 round magazines so original S&W mags have gotten pretty pricey. Cheaper Than Dirt used to carry after market mags and they worked OK provided you didn't try to fill them to capacity.

Please note the .45 ACP Marlin Camp Carbine uses the ubiquitous Colt 1911 magazines for which aftermarket mags are plentiful.

Only use Mec-Gar clips for the S&W 5900 series with great success!!

You really haven't gotten a straight answer. The magazine fits a number of Smith and Wesson models; it is known generally as the "59-series" magazine. The latch-point and feed lips of the 59-series magazines are all the same but there can be different overall lengths of the magazines -- for example: the 15-round 5906 magazine will work, as will the 12-round magazine from the 6906.
Factory 59-series magazines are usually fairly reasonably priced, so I'd suggest going with those, but there are good quality aftermarket ones -- particularly the suggested Mec-Gar brand ones.
Edit: Ha! just noticed how old the thread is!0 -
Someone knows how to use that search function [8D] 0
