Puma M92 454 works fine
I just took my 454 lever action to the range. Shot 150 rounds. shot as good as I can shoot first shoot hit the x at 50 yard. 240 grain Hor, HPT. NOTHING BROKE, RATTLED OR LOOSENED. Called Leagacy Sports and taled with gunsmith, he said I could shoot 45 colt, but they don.t recomend it. Legal tec. stuff. advised me not to use lead though. The kick was not bad even with 335 cor- bon penetrater loads. not as bad as with my ruger pistol. the 240 horn. loads were not even close to my 35 Rem. shot in a 336 marlin. The Puma works fine may change the recoile pad and the sights. I don't know what the fuss is all about. Heard Winchester is making a lever in 480 instead of 454. I think there some polictical stuff going on. I'm glad I got it. Paid $500 out the door. Heard some places selling them for $60-$70 cheaper around the S.F. Bay Area in Califorina.

Ryan,
I guess they are concerned about the lead build up in the barrel, hence developing more pressure. What do you think?

The gunsmith said that colt 45 rounds would shave lead and cause feed problems with the 454. He also said, if I was going to shoot lead to use a jacketed bullet every 4 or 5 rounds to clean out lead deposits. 0 -
Ryan,
This is off the subject, but what the heck.
I have a nephew named Robert who was also in the Marines, (He still thinks he can kick my ass, I got news for him) and his son, my great nephew, his name is Ryan. Coincidental, HUH.
