not an expert, but here's my thoughts.

the blue book hits the M100 at $365.00 in 98% condition. if it's a shooter i'd say that you might get a little more closer to deer season, but if you can use the money right now, then list it. the extra that the piece brings at deer season won't be worth the wait.

This is a generality and "no generality is worth a damn, including this one" (bonus points to those who identify the author of that quote ). However, IME, 'deer rifles' and other hunting firearms do sell somewhat better from Sept to the end of deer season. Then the market falls off precipitously until late winter. The trend is more marked to someone engaged in the business than to a private seller. When I am buying, I try to wait for the winter slowdown when prices are more flexible and some real bargains may be found (especially in the three weeks before Christmas). As treedawg noted, you might see some premium by waiting two months, but IME, the fluctuation is more on the downside.

Seasonal prices are a reality. If your in business. Time is money.

Inventory turns are cash flow, good business, and last but not the least,...profit. A wonderful word that gives us jobs.

Try buying a car when new models come out. Or a snowblower, air conditioner, winter clothing, etc., etc.

Waiting for the season can be smart,....if....what you have to sell isn't too common.
Why? Because, there are others with the same or similar items that are doing the same thing, at the same time. So, now there are a lot more to choose from, and it can become more of a buyer's market.

I offer on average 10% less for items 'out of season'. Turns=Money.
A couple percentage points difference isn't always worth waiting for.

Here in VA. from Oct-DEC firearms and related equipment is much more expensive. Because of Hunting season and the christmas Holidays.

    Good Luck.

    Harleeman,
What I think you had there was a carbine, they usually bring about 20-25% more than the rifle, and are more desirable. Caliber makes a difference too.
