Scope for Savage 30G Favorite
As my eyes get older, I find I can't use iron sights. I am thinking of mounting low power vintage Weaver scope so I can use the rifle again. Does anybody have any ideas for mounts and any idea of how much it would have the mounts installed. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had an old Favorite once, purchased a new barrel from Gun Parts Corp. to put on it. I put a Weaver Ruger 10/22 scope mount on the flat part of the top and mounted my scope. A little bit of kitchen table gunsmithing but it worked for me.

Weaver mounts have a good reputation, and seem to last forever. If you have a dealer you deal with alot and you buy your equipment off him he might mount it for a little of nothing. If not you should be able to get a scope mounted correctly and Boresited, for $40.00 or less. Or you can do it yourself. Any way its good to hear your getting back into the shooting sports.
Good Luck.

Bummer! Two smiths told me today it can't be done--right after I purchased 30+ year old made in USA Weaver V22 scope which is NIB including manuel, hang tag and mounting instructions. Unfortunately, no rings were included. Anybody have any ideas/suggestions.
