flame1980 - What I do in a situation like that is surf the auctions to see what an item is bringing, OR, list it on the auction and either start it out at the lowest price I'd accept OR put a reserve on it equal to the lowest price I'd accept and see where the bidding takes it ... the market will determine the value ... keep in mind that typically gun sales are slower in the summer.

Without a comprehensive description as to condition its impossible to give a value.

The only bad thing about choosing a Kimber ...
... there are so darn many models to choose from!

Also, need to know more details. Is it a round barrel or octagon? barrel length? S,L LR or S only? Rifled or smooth bore? origional finish or reworked (metal and wood)?
I've seen M-12 Rem's sell for under 100 bucks and for over a 1000 bills, Depending on exact model and condition.

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

After buying the "Blue Book" every year for the past 10-12 years... I've decided not to do it again.. very few of his prices are in line with sale... not asking....prices.. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower, but on the mark less than 50% of the time and the price of the book is going up faster than gun prices... Save your money and take the above advice and surf the gun auctios..LOOK FOR SELLING PRICES.. NOT ASKING PRICES....That'll get you a true market value...Just my Opinion...

The Gun Collectors guide list these guns between 150.00 to 550.00 unless you have a real special one, those can go way up in money

I have a model 12 Rem as you discribe with less than 25% origional finish, paid for it $125 at a dealer. FWIW the same dealer offered me $500 for my M-12 octagon with 90% origional finish (so you know it would retail for much more).
Yours is the most common of the M-12's.

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

jim, the blue book is a good "guide" if used as such. think about all the other "blue books" out there, eg-blue book for autos. you can't get exact values due to many factors, such as local trends ect., but it'll put you in the ball park. i feel like it's a good investment at the current price. i don't buy every new one that comes out, but i do manage to get every other ed.
