Herters J9 rifle

I recently purchased a Herters J9 rifle in .308 Win. It was in new condition and I really think never before fired. I scoped it up with a 6x Leupold and took it to the range yesterday. She's are real tack driver. Using Hornady Light Magnums in 165 gr. boattails I was able to shoot 3 shot groups that were just over an inch and two 2 shot groups that were under an inch.

Question: Does anyone know where I can purchase a synthetic stock for the J9? I know that it was made by Zastava in Yugoslavia and based on the Mauser action. Zastava is the same company that made the Interarms Mark X and is now being imported to the USA as the Charles Daly.

I plan to use this rifle this fall for elk and want the synthetic stock so the original wood stock doesn't get all banged up in the scabbard. Some of the stock makers show stock for the Mark X. Anyone know if these will fit the J9? I'm not getting any answers from the stock makers.

    Thanks for the help.

Mine is an XK-3. They are of good quality for shooters, though there is little or no collector market. Something between $250 & $350 should get you one in excellent condition.
