Need help with Springfield 1911 please!

Two years ago I bought a Springfield TRP 1911 and I love it.About a month ago I had come across the Springfield 1911 loaded series,the full size model on sale so I bought it new from my dealer. The gun is a dream to shoot and does not malfunction.But if the slide is locked back and you insert a loaded mag,then press the slide release it will not chamber a round. It takes a six O clock nose dive,and usually with so much force it shoves the bullet slightly back in the casing.But if you pull the slide back and release it will chamer the round.I first tried using different mags,same results.I then tried some Wilson Mags with the same results.I tried using 230gr ball ammo,it was the same way.You have to pull the slide back then it chambers anything.And when firing it always works fine.I called Springfield and they suggested I use the seven round mags that came with the gun,not the eight rounders I got from Springfield at a discount for buying the gun.It did not help.So they tell me to shoot a couple hundred more rounds through it.But I could almost buy another gun with the factory ammo I have damaged by releasing the slide.Is pulling the slide all the way back and releasing it to chamber a round exceptable as the gun will fire anything without a studder.Or should it chamber a round by releasing the slide alone? I have messed up so many expensive factory rounds I just pull the slide all the way back and release it to chamber a round. I love the 1911 but I sure have alot to learn.Thanks in advance for any ones help I need it.

  Look at a loaded magazine and see if the bullet tip is clearing the front of the mag. I had one that didnt and filed it down a bit in the front, worked good after that.

  CHECK THE CLEARANCE AT THE FRONT OF THE MAG TO THE LOADING RAMP. Mine was way off and I had to file the ramp down a little and polish it. Good Luck!
