Cwinn,,, Iam shooting the Calif Police Olympics Hi-power Service rifle match at Camp Pendleton next weekend, and one of my team mates is on the Marine Corp rifle team.
The 75gr .223 Black Hills round is indeed used by the military, he gets it issued to him. Its headstamp reads" BHA 223 Match"which is their "new" ammo. The Black Hills remanufacured ammo uses "LC" or Lake City brass, but both use match Hornady bullets.
These rounds will work fine out to 600yds, you just need to know the right "dope" for the round, barrel length, wind etc.
During our practice, we were using standard 20rd AR magazines, and the rounds fit fine. The longer- heavier bullets are simply seated beeper so they will have the same over-all length as the 55gr ball ammo or the ss-109 round.
    Happy shootin--- Joe

The BlackHills is a very good choice.
Tommy at Georgia Precision is the biggest dealer I know of.
If you have a friendly FFL they can order direct from BlackHills.
