American Eagle ammunition
Anyone know the difference(s) between Federal ammunition and the American Eagle variety? I have some of the latter, and the box says "Federal Cartridge Company" in an out-of-the-way place. Just curious.

From what I understand the American Eagle is just the lower price Federal brand. I think it is only in popular calibers with fmj bullets. Just like UMC is to Remington and Winchester has a brand that I can't think of right know. 0 -
It's good quality target ammo. I've shot many boxes of it in different calibers. It's Federal and the brass is great for reloading.

These guys are right and it is good ammo I have never had any trouble with it. A sales rep told me not to reload it but boy was he wrong. I have Brass thats been loaded 3 times and still ready to go.

I use their 50 gr Hp in .223 in my Ruger #1, and it works great. Can buy it on the net for $4.99/box when it is on sale.

It is excellent ammo. I bought 10 boxes when I bought my first .40 and got a good set of brass to reload. I still have a lot of that brass and have reloaded it 8-10 times now.
