In the April 29 issue of Shotgun News factory 15round P226 mags are $59.99 in very good condition. I would say that if it is in good shooting shape, the mags are factory and are in decent shape buy it.

You got such a good deal you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Go to the auction and search P226 and look at the prices.

Oh stop showing off with that price. Shame on you. Most of us would jump all over that deal. Get it or you'll regret it, but only if those mags are factory and in good shape. GD

Actually the mags are all practically new (about 2 yrs old) and in great shape. So I guess I should buy it. Thanks for the input.

you can always have it reblued or finished the way you want. As long as it is functionally in good order i would buy it.....hell if you dont tell the guy i want it.

I guess I really don't have to add my opinion, but I will. I have a a 226 and I'd buy that gun without a first though, much less a second.
A buddy of mine bought a DAO 226 used with 1 hi-cap for $350 and I though THAT was a steal!! Do it man!

Buy it....lest we creep up on you in your sleep and whisper "Buy the SIG, buy the SIG" over and over again....nah, instead of going to all that trouble I'd just buy the dang thing myself.

So are the mags for law enforcement only? You mention that the mags are only 2 years old and that they are 15rd mags. There haven't been any unrestricted mags made since 1994. So are these pre-ban ones that have been used for only 2 years, are they factory or aftermarket, or are they LEO restricted mags? I'm just curious, its a deal no matter what your answers are. Its just a better deal if the mags are factory pre-ban rather than aftermarket. Then again this gun could be worth $10,000 to you if the mags are in fact LEO mags and you aren't a LEO. That is the fine for posession of the LEO restricted mags. That figure isn't what someone would pay you, it is what you could be paying as a fine. Still if they are restricted, you could give those to a PD or an individual officer, buy new mags and still be ahead. Sorry, I just had to ask.

Iarmsx has a good point if mags are LEO. Book has it @ $310 for 60%, which I somehow doubt it's in that bad of a shape, so at $275 with or without mags, still sounds like a great deal. It should still last you another 500 years. I hope by now you are cleaning it. GD
