approx date of manufacture Colt

I recently acquired another Colt Gov. Model .380, Series 80 for the safe. The serial no. is RC563xx. The one I have owned for a while is serial no. RC038xx. Can someone please give me the approximate dates of manufacture of these firearms or tell me where to look for the info? Thanks to all for the help.

  When you get past the early 80's and into the 90's, the only reliable source for manufacture dates is Colt themselves. There isn't any publications I am familiar with that cover these later years. Check with Colt! They have a web site which will give you numerous ways to contact them including a Toll Free Phone Number. The Web Site address is: http://www.Colt.com Good Luck!

  The government model 380, started in 1985, no info as to it being discontinued,
  
  And Colt is very hard to get information from.
