1836 to 1940" by Haven&Belden. Outstanding
information, advertisments, and pictures.

You have a wonderful book there.
Years ago, I tried to figure out all of the different Colts one could have bought in 1940, based on the catalog pages reproduced in that book. There are options for barrel lengths, chamberings, finishes, stock materials, engraving styles, etc.. It staggers the mind.
Both the Colt and Smith & Wesson lines were at their peak in variety and quality just before World War II. Where did I put that time machine?0 -
