S&W 686 8 3/8 barrel, how much?
I'm new to revolvers and am looking at a S&W 686-8 and am wondering what one should pay for such a gun. Almost new condition, wood grips, but no box or manuals, etc... can anyone help me out with a price range here? Thanks.

here in western montana they go for $350- $400 in great shape 0 -
This one would probably go for around $300, if it has adj. front sight then add another $55. Add $14 for white outline rear sight and another $40 for 8 3/8" barrel. 0 -
Check on gun broker looks like 500 to 700 there. We would buy them at 300.00 all day. 0 -
Maybe in Montana like-new 686 revolvers with wood stocks can be had for $350, but I have hard time believing you can find a like-new one with long barrel and wood grips in a shop most anywhere else for that price.
Personally, at $350, I'd buy every one like that you can offer me. . .
*IF* you're patient, and you're willing to take ANY 686 (ie not necessarily 8" bbl, nor wood grips, nor like new condition), then you might be able to pick one up for as little as $400-450.
But for what you describe (like new, long barrel, wood grips), I'd say a fair market price is probably about $525-650.
Anything less than $500, and I'd consider that an excellent deal.0 -

Here in Mo, 550.00 to 700.00 all day. I would buy for resale every one I could find for 350.00. 8" barrels will bring a little more but are slower to move. 0
