Ruger P-95 question

The alternative technique you tried sounds like the standard SIG, Beretta, Glock etc way of chambering a first round: yank the slide back vs releasing it via the lever. At least on the guns mentioned, that's SOP.

My guess is that you probably had a somewhat dirty feed ramp after 150 rounds or the Ruger really should be used like the Euro autos. If the Ruger wants to go with a yanked slide, do it.

Is the gun new? sometimes the bulky guns like rugers will break in after a 1000rnds and the problem disappears. They are the best bang for your bucks though, I like em too.

    Happy birthday.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

The P-95 is a good overall handgun. Some officers at a neighboring Town choose to carry them as their main sidearm. At first I thought it was the fact they had to buy their own sidearms. Boy was I wrong talking about Bang for the buck you have it. I have seen many officers rack the slide to chamber the first round. It seems as if its harmless as long as you dont mind. I have a KP89t and have never had that problem, But neither have I shot Nato ammo in it.

    Good Luck.

The dirty ramp idea may be a cause. I suspect that the NATO ammunition has a slightly different shape or texture than the other ammunition. If the rim were slightly bigger, for instance, it would drag more intensely on the feed lips. If it works, who cares?

Yea, I'm backing judge colt on this one. After firing all that other ammo your chamber was probably dirty, and the Nato stuff probably didn't have as smooth of a texture or was maybe a little bigger than the other stuff.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
