Scope for Marlin Cowboy
I am in the process of buying a new Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357 Mag. It will be used mostly to shoot paper at 50 and 100 yards. My old eyes require a scope, and I am looking for suggestions. Thanks.

I've got an old steel tube Weaver 1x-4x on my 336, nice and compact and it doesn't throw off the balance of the gun.

If you like the real big scopes. like the 50mm
objectives. Then use those see through mounts, by Weaver,
They will give you enough clearance, so the bell on the
scope doesn't hit the barrel, and you can see REAL GOOD.
F.Y.I. that 357 is real good deer buster! And great for hogs.
with the 125 grain hollowpoints.

PJ, Have you tried an appeture sight? I have "old eyes" and found this to be a great solution for short range rifles (my marlin 357 wears one). If you really want a scope, I'd suggest one of the Leupold compacts. Good luck. 0 -
I've got a bsa fixed 4 power on my cowboy 44 mag and it is great for those type yardages, as a matter of fact I've got seven Marlin lever actions and they all have fixed 4 power scopes on them, if it works why fix it...
