Hold on, it is possible the cartridges have some collector value. You need to talk with Iconoclast for that.

I would guess (though I certainly do not know the hand warmer collector market, if any) that the hand warmer is not worth more than a few bucks. Why not just use it on your deer hunt this winter?

I used a jon-e warmer back in the 1960's. It worked very well. I don't know if the fuel it used would be available today. The ammo should fire with no problem. It will be of some value for shooting if not collectable.

They still make fluid for your Jon-e hand warmer. This one company has it for about $11.00 per 16 oz can + shipping. I just got one this past Xmas and haven't used it yet, but I had two old J C Higgins ones and if I recall, all I used was regular lighter fluid. The Jon-e fluid is odorless, so they claim. Use it, they work pretty good.

You can buy fluid for a Jon-E in any tobacco shop or convenience store. It is also called lighter fluid!

The ammo may or may not be of value as a collectible. If you want to provide details as Sgt. Roberts suggested, I'll try to help you in that respect. But unless it was stored improperly, it is still safe to shoot, if only for practice at the range. I've shot a lot of ammo from that era over the past 10 or so years.

Had forgotten about Jon-E hand warmers. Put it up for auction and see what you get on a Dutch bid. If it brings anything I'll start digging through the basement/garage and find mine. At one time used to take at least two to the field with me. With the advent of better/warmer clothing just stopped using.

Am confident I always used lighter fluid in mine.
