I use two layers of Belt leather sewn and glued together and then two metal screws into the baseplate.
    Never has failed.

The Wilson or Baer mags 8 rounders are IMHO the top of the line in 1911 mags. I can't for the life of me see any diff between the Baer and Wilson other than $5.

All I use is the Wilson Combat 8 rounders, they have a short (1/4") extension already on them ... I think they were $17 a few years ago.

    Best,
    kk

Hay KK, Try $28 bucks, oh well I picked one up. They have a great pitch so I bit.

cpermd, I am going to use your suggestion on my existing clip. I like your idea!

    Thanks to all!

Sorry about that there Mr. Lobo, I guess it was longer ...

I bought them with my first Kimber Custom Classic (96?) ... back when they were still made in Clackamas OR. Traded the 2 that came with it for Wilsons and bought 5 extras ... I guess my memory isn't what it used to be ... but then, neither am I

I have had problems with the Wilson magazine in my Kimber CDP Pro. It tends to jam on the next to last round in the magazine. Wilson makes an alternate follower for converting a standard magazine to 8 rounds. I changed my follower to this type and it works fine. The Wilson magazines work fine in all my other 1911 guns, Springfield, Colt, even a Llama. I have also used the McCormick Power mag magazines with good success, and They are about $10 cheaper than the Wilson's.

Try the Chip McCormac 1911 mags. Shotgun News has them for I believe $11 through CDNN. I bought two stainless 8rnd mags, they come with black polimer extentions and the screws to attach them to the mags. Tey function flawlessly in my Kimber Custom SS Target and I highly recommend them.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

www.cdnninvestments.com I'm with 4God these are the best for the price. I checked out the site and the blued 8rd are 9.99 the stainless are 12.99. Best prices I have seen in 8yr. Go for it, you won't be sorry. They are the Shooting Star brand.

I have (7) Eight Rd. Shooting star Mags for my Kimber Gold Match. Never a problem in over 1000 rounds so far. I put Shooting Star extenders on all of them.

Guns only have two enemies: Rust and Liberals....
