When I was in business of gunsmithing, retired a year ago, I charged
$65.00 to reline a 22 barrel. Any good gunsmith can do this.

Relining a .22 is very simple, providing you have the drill, liner and a little skill. Brownell's sells the liners and drills. An expert
smith would drill out the barrel just prior to the crown. Nearly undectable if done this way. BT99 nailed the price. Then either solder
or glass the liner in the barrel. Cut the extractor with a file and you are in business. If an inexpensive arm, you may wish to try it your self. Suggest you experiment on a scrap barrel. Best, Steve

    TAZ,
Guess we do not live on the computer. Seventeen minutes is an ureasonable amount of time to receive a response. Thanks for the "just kidding" adder.

You would also need a chambering reamer. For a one gun project, probably better to have it done and price quoted sounds very good when you consider a liner costs at least $25.00.

Thanks for replies all. I am considering a Savage 1903 with a shot-out bbl and am trying to come up with a price. In case you all didn't get the "17 minute" drill, there was a post last week from someone saying just that. I was just making light of it. Later Yawl ...

The best thing that ever happened to my Savage Stevens 987T was have a Shilen barrel sleave installed in it. It will punch holes in holes at 25yds, and I'm no marksman.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Lee - And what was the price tag for this Shilen liner, if I may pry.

It was only like $35 if I remember right, I think I got it from Midway. I don't really remember it was at least a year ago. I know you can get a liner from brownells for under $35 but I don't remember what brand it was.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
