Is there a way to figure the date of manufacture using a serial number? What I'm checking on, I've found, was made at two different times. Both of which are only a couple of years apart.

  Be nice to know just what you're talking about? What Gun/s are you discussing? Can you be a bit more specific?..Make, Model, Caliber..?

  First, let me say sorry for not being more specific. The item in question is an Iver Johnson U.S. Carbine .22--Model EW.22HBA. Thanks ahead for any help.
