New Charles Daly Rifles, Whats the quality?

So there is this rifle I'm looking at, and you know its a Charles Daly. I know that these guns are made in Yugoslavia, thats a good thing in my book, because I like what I've seen come out of there in the past. I also know Charles Daly is made in more than one place, depending on whether its a pistol or rifle. So my question: Does anyone have one, or had one of recent manufacture, and can you tell me of its quality overall, please be specific. I only have 5 minutes to get an answer, just kidding, I had to go there, but I seriously do need an answer on this, if anyone knows, thanks, Robs. I'm also posting this in the General Discussino Forum, due to the higher allowance of replies to the subject over there, no offense CaptKirk, just covering my bases.

  Looked them over at the SHOT Show. If you liked the Mark X Mauser rifles that Interarms brought in, you'll like these as well. Appear to be very serviceable, but the stocks are crap.

  The synthetic stock is an inexpensive unit, really needs to be correctly fitted/bedded to bring out the performance of the rifle. The wood stocks are some type of hardwood which are checkered BEFORE they are polyurethaned, which results in the checkering filling up with finish. The ones I saw at SHOT looked pretty amateur.

  I can only reply to the synthetic stock versions. Its not a weatherby nor a Remington, or winchester etc. But they are soundly built and reliable. And a lot less expensive than those mentioned above. With the money you save you can have a trigger job, and the barrel free floated if need be. Over all I think there worth the money. And I kind of like the texture of the synthetic stocks.
