  • hey bud, i have never fired a glock 30 or kimber but i would love to hear some responses on this question. Glock seems to be more of a combat pistol and Kimber seems like it's a gun that becomes your baby and is used in the back yard to have with once in a while. just my uneducated opinion.

My Glock 30 has never failed to go
bang. Don't own a Kimber, but if
never failed to go bang in 3000
rounds, I would be suprised. And,
no I did not shoot all 3000 in one
day, more like year/year and a half.

If it weren't for lawyers, I wouldn't need a lawyer.

I own several Kimbers and have owned 2 Glocks. I would say reliablity is pretty much going to be equal. Both are quality pistols. I really believe you could not go wrong with either gun. Just a matter if you want cocked and locked or safe-action. But which Kimber model are you consider out of couriousity?

Any gun may exhibit a failure of some kind sooner or later. You need to prove whatever you gun you buy with at least a couple hundred rounds.

You can't go wrong with a Glock or Kimber--which one do you like more?

I owned a Glock 30 for almost three years and recently sold it. I really liked it but it was a might small in my hands. I currently own two Glock 21's as well as a Kimber Gold Match. All have been completely reliable.

I do not have a bad thing to say about either. I just prefer the 1911
    style gun over anything else.

I shoot IDPA and Kimbers and Glocks are heavily represented by the other shooters shooting factory and reloads. I have never seen either jam or misfire in any of the competitions I have competed in...but then neither has my USP40 or Browning HP.

All are quality guns and when used with quality loads and maintained should never have a functioning problem.

I have owned many guns over the years and kept them all except for the high capacity Glock 45 I had. It was the most unreliable gun I ever had and the only one I have ever gladly gotten rid of. I own two Kimbers and they are the best their is, bar none. You either love a Glock or hate them. I would never own another Glock. Hope this doesn't make the Glock lovers upset.

Its all 100% opinion, but I would not trade my Glock 21 for two Kimbers. I know Kimber is a good weapon, but excluding the 1911s. They all have a low capacity magazine. I know get them with the first shot. But its not always that easy. I know alot of Police Officers who carry them as a back up gun, and I have never heard anything but positive coments from Kimber owners. I like the mini Glocks but there to small for my hands. I think you should feel both guns and see which one you like better.

    Good Luck.

I have a Kimber SS Custom Target, It is absolutely the finest shooting handgun I have ever fired. I have a friend who shoots at tounaments, he has a glock 22 and two Kimbers one in 45ACP the other in 40s+w. I was originally looking at glock, hk, sig, and a few others including the 1911's. After shooting the Glock and the Kimbers I fell for the Kimber hard and went and bought mine. I love it, its definately a keeper Ill never get rid of. I have only shot about 500 rounds through mine so far but have had NO misfires, stovepiped rounds or any problems at all. I have shot lead, jacketed hp's, GI ball and flat nosed bullets. My friend no longer shoots the glock in competition either as he says the Kimbers are more accurate and function just as flawlessly. Its probably gonna be a matter of fit more than function. I think they are probably equal on the reliability side. Kimber gets the edge with accuracy though and they look a hell of a sight better as well.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....
