223 vs 22.250
Just noticed this months issue of American Hunter(NRA) has a very interesting aricle on these two calibers. Seems this article makes the 223 more accurate and the 22.250 also faired well. Mainly it talked of factory loads for the calibers are getting better.

You will notice the trajectory on the 22-250 much better at long range, and the energy much better. 0 -
A lot depends on what you want the rifle to do. If you're just shooting at something stationary so you can walk the rounds onto it or use a range finder they are both fine. If you're hunting coyotes or groundhogs where you have to guess the range and shoot quick, the 22/250 will get you more hits because of its flatter trajectory. I've used both and that's my opinion.

No comparison between the two rounds. .223 is an adequate military round which accomplishes what it was designed to do. The .22-250 is the best varmint round available...yeah yeah I know more than a few Swift owners will object(with somewhat good cause) but in any case the performance of the .22-250 has it all over the .223. Just look at the cartridges....the .223 looks a little like a 22 Hornet... the .22-250 just looks BIG! Beach 0 -
Are you sure that there wasn't something else that article mentioned.
But I'd have to back up what mobuck said.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.0
