I have ordered a new set of Lyman sights for a Savage 30G. I seem to be suffering from a bad case of CRS and need to know which derection to remove the old sights from the dovetail. Any help will be mosy appreciated

With the muzzle pointed away from you, sights are driven out from left to right. That means they are installed driven in from right to left.

The rear sight on my Savage 340C is too far to the right. Does this mean that to correct this I should tap the sight (from the left) all the way out of the right side and reinsert it from the left side to get it in the center? I can't get the sight to move by tapping it from the right side.

If your bullets are striking to the right of your point of aim you need to move the rear sight to the left. If you are unable to move it as you indicate, remove it to the right and file a bit off the sight and reinsert from the right and drift it to the left. If your sights have not been moved for quite some time you might have a rust problem. Apply a bit of lubricant and try drifting before filing anything.
