tritium sights
i have an old winchester 94 that i love to hunt with, the problem is that as i get older i have a harder time seeing the sights in fading light. is it possible to have tritium sights put on this gun?

I don't know of any companies that make any aftermarket ones, but I'm sure you could probably find a gunsmith to do something.
If not tritium, I know that you could probably have a hi-viz type sight, or at least a light tube installed by a gunsmith.
I remeber reading an article in a guns magazine on how a gunsmith drilled out the front sight on a Beretta 92F and installed a light tube. So I'm sure you could probably have something like that done.
I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.0 -
I think you should investigate the FireSight or other "light pipe" type of aftermarket sights for your 94. Tritium (glow in the dark) are not all that bright unless it's REALLY dark so I think the light-gathering effect of the light pipe sight systems would be much more to your liking. I know they're available from Thompson / Center for their muzzle loaders & other firearms; any good 'smith ought to be able to fit these items (or others) to your 94 without too much trouble. 0 -
Thanks guys. very good suggestions. light tubes would probably be the way to go 0 -
the maker of FireSight, I believe; they have a set for the 94.
I thought had Trijicon-style night sights for the 94's also, but can't find it on their website. They have a lot of alternative types of sights available though, which might suit your needs.0 -
I alos have a pre-64 Model 94 and went with a kick-ezz pad and williams sights. They are a little more well built and visable, 0
