According to the Blue Book of Gun Values, 22nd. edition, page 1443 "Beginning in 1992, all Model 94's and variations (not including the 9422 models) received an engineering change utilizing a cross-bolt in the upper rear of the receiver that prevents the hammer from contacting the firing pin.". Trust this is what you are looking for. The last serial number for the 94 in 1978 was 4662210; again per the Blue Book.

Saxon, how's the action on your Trapper? I tried it on a Marlin lever and it was very choppy. Not smooth at all. The sales guy said this was due to the saftey. He also said the Winchesters w/ the safety were the same way. Apologies to pabooger for stepping on your topic.

mine is a 20" barreled pre-64 (1960)carbine in .32 winchester special. it has no saftey. the new run of 1886 lever guns have a saftey that goes were the tang sight would install, irritating all of us to no end.
