I recommend you contact Taurus. Night sights are not something to be installed by the inexperianced. Also if you DIY the warranty on the sights may be void.

I put tritium sights on my Kahr. I was told, and actually
ended up having to cut the old sight out because the company
inserts them with tremendous pressure. I then had to
adjust the sights to fit the slot. This takes good equipment and
some experience with this type of thing. I could not suggest it
for the average person to do. If you must, then mark
extremely accurately where they are to begin with, then try and
tap them out. I put my slide in a vise with leather to protect the
metal. A brass punch would probably do the job with light tapping
    and carefully watching the progress.
When inserting new tritium sights, be aware you can break the
element in the sights with enough shock/vibration/pounding.

Thats why I adjusted mine to fit without great pounding to be needed.

I have the advantage of great equpiment, including dental
cements to lock the thing in place.

I think its probably worth the extra bucks to let someone else do
it, unless yours come out easily enough to give you confidence.

The sights are great to have. Half of every day is nighttime. And
thats' when the bad guys like to go around preying on people.
Mine are great, and I have tritium on both my carry, and my wifes carry.

I will always have tritium from now on, on any carry gun.

thanks eric. i have all the equipment to do it, i work at viking pool cues. i could actually build a new slide there with all the cnc and tools we have. but i'd rather not screw up my gun. i shot with the night sights, and wow! i use my gun for fun at the range and protection when i'm walking at night, so i want to be able to see at all times. i'm gonna wait and see what taurus says about the warranty before i make any descions. thanks for the info, cody
