S&W Ejector Rod Problem
I can't seem to keep the ejector rod on a S&W 610 from backing out. So far I've managed to catch it before it ties up the gun, but need a better solution. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

Send it to S&W, warranty should take care of it. 0 -
Use a little Red lock-tight. You will still be able to take it out. 0 -
if you use the lock tite as above JUST PUT A DROP ON A TOOTH PICK & REB A LITTLE OF IT ON THE LAST COUPLE OF THREADS, LET SET FOR 24HR BEFORE USE. IT'S WAY TO EASY TO USE TO MUCH. 0 -
S&W will stake it on. I would rather use a removable Loctite of Aviation Permatex on the threads. 0 -
Thanks for the replys. Locktite seems to be the first option. I've got blue so I think I'll try that first. 0 -
This problem comes in often and I simply put the rod into the leather padded jaws of my vise, tighten securely and then tighten the rod into the extractor. Just remember, these are left hand threads and they need to be tightened securely but not with excessive force. 0
