It's a simple enough conversion, replacing or converting the bolt head. The brass is pretty much proprietary although it lasts quite a while if you dont hotrod it. .20 cal bullets can be somewhat pricey, but all in all a damn sight less than 5mm rimfire ammo in the long run.

For $79 (the cost of the conversion), its a pretty good deal.

My understanding is they will be offering new factory ammo this fall. For the cost of conversion, reloading tools & purchasing relatively expensive components, this may be the more economic way to go. If I were going to the expense of converting the rifle, I personally would invest more in the conversion and replace the barrel with one chambered in a more conventional .22 CF caliber. Then again, I never bought the rifle, just a couple of cases of ammo which turned a nice profit over the years (20x what I paid!). Thinking I may do the same thing w/ the .17 HMR as well.

Thanks for the info. Conversion would cost about $79., dies are $70., brass is machined and about $60. per hundred. Bullets are reasonable in price. I have several different .17's and this may fill a niche for me. Thanks again.
