CCI Shotshell

I have some CCI Shotshell for .22LR and was wondering if this would damage the rifling. What about on the larger calibers like 9mm or .45?

    They won't hurt the rifling but, due to the rifling, the effective range is measured in feet not yards. Same thing with the pistol shotshell loads. Ideal for shooting rats and snakes inside a building.
    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    CCI would not be selling these cartridges if they damaged barrels. Soft lead and plastic will not damage a barrel. Use them without concern.

    Yea, don't worry about it. It will probably cause less wear on your bore than an actual lead bullet.

    I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.

    Shooting shot in your gun will not harm your barrel I have dispathed several crawly cridders with my Ruger Bearcat,and the gun can still manage to shoot better than me. I think this also applies to the larger calibers, although I have heard of the semi auto calibers not wanting to feed the cartridges. Hope this helps!!

    My S&W CS-9 will not feed with the CCI shot shells. I have shot a ton of them through a 22 killing pigeons in the barn. Won't blow a hole through the tin roof like a shotgun. Works great for that! And fun too!

    My reason for concern was that I saw Ruger states in the maual not to use them in the Mark II's. And, bhayes420, I noticed that in my Marlin 795 they will not cycle the action after the first shot. It must be done manually after each round is fired.

    The reason Ruger warns against using these cartridges has nothing to do with damaging the rifling, and I am sure the warning does not so state. The warning is given because these cartridges will not cycle semi-automatics, and may not be reliable in feeding either.

    I just bought some CCI 9x19 and .45ACP shotshells to try and I am anxious to see if they will cycle the actions. The old Remington brass shotshells would cycle a M1911-type pistol. I hope the CCI do as well.

    They won't cycle in any of my auto 22's either. I always shoot them in an old savage bolt action or my marlin pump.

    I have a jennings I bought just for the shot, and it will cycle them fine, and has killed many a rat. I have also used 38spec, good for "cat" size critters with in 15feet at head shot.
