In my oponion I think every freedom Loving american should own a firearm, and belong to the NRA. As for cleaning your guns, I find it a pleasure I admire my guns as I clean them. As for recommending a gun for you I cant do it. It depends on where you live, what you intend to hunt etc. You may want to take a good gun safety program before you make your purchase. It may help you decide what to buy. I wish you luck and hope this helps dont forget to join rhe NRA.

    Good Luck.

Go to wallyworld and make a bee line strait for the toy department. Find yourself a nice squirtgun or, better yet, one of those guns that shoots the darts with the little sucker cups on the ends. Then you can flip on your TV and find a good wildlife station and hunt all kinds of animals, but be careful, those guns are daaaaangerous....

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

This is a wide open subject, and difficult to tell you everything you need to know on a forum like this.

First, let's forget about hunting for now; no one should even THINK about hunting until he is familiar with guns and gun safety, and has enough experience that he can hit where he aims.

Secondly, know where you will LOCK any gun you buy. (No, I don't mean where you will HIDE it in your house.) I mean LOCK. You must protect your gun against theft, and misuse by a member of your household.

Third, find a local gunshop and visit it. Plan to buy your gun and accessories there. The big box store may be cheaper, but the local gun store will give you advice that you will certainly need. I suggest that your first gun be a .22 rifle, maybe the Ruger 10 shot auto. The gun shop will be able to direct you to a local range, maybe even a club, where you can get a beginners lesson and fire at targets. The gun shop can also sell you a rifle cleaning kit that has everything you need to care for your rifle, with instructions.

If you have trouble finding a local gun shop/range, post your city and a member probably can make suggestions. Once you have completed these steps, the answers to the rest of your questions will most likely fall into place.
