Mauser advice
I have a .22 Mauser that I'm not sure about. On the left side of the barrel it is stamped(Patrone 22 long rifle),the left side of action is stamped(MAUSER WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF R.N.. The rifle is single shot and the action is grooved the complete lentgh for a scope mount .Can anyone tell me what type of mount would fit this? I'm was told that the gun came from the factory this way.Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does the receiver have one groove, or two running parallel to eachother on either side of the top of the receiver? If it is a 2 groove a standard U.S. made rimfire ring-mount may work. These operate by clamping sharp edges into the grooves, and sometimes appear like there is no way they will work until you actually apply them. If they won't work out of the box they can sometimes be modified to work. One thing is for certain--the Germans developed some strange and exotic scope mounts that are difficult to come by in this country, and some of the older ones are even scare over there. 0 -
Just curious, does it resemble a swedish mauser or a German K98?
I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.0 -
Thanks for the help.I was told it was a german military training rifle and the grooves are running parallel to each other.I'm not sure about the k98.The right side of barrel is marked(DRP DRGM.)and further up the barrel it is stamped with CH51. Thanks again. 0
