F.Dumoulin & Co.
I've recently inheirted a double barrel (with exposed hammers)shotgun.
I am familiar with some of the well known gunmakers such as J.C. Higgins ,LeFever,Stevens and etc...But this particular shotgun has a name that I've never heard of although I have seen one of the makers marks somewhere before. The mark is an egg shaped crown with an E over a LC or LG inside the egged portion of the crown.Any direction anyone could point me in would be greatly welcomed. My e-mail is: kosa_2_nc@yahoo.com
Thanks

The proof-mark you describe is a Belgian proof-mark.
Dumoulin's are made in Herstal, Beglium.
Well made, European field guns usually. There are some that speciality items. In order to determine that you would have to have the shotgun in hand.0 -
AQH; called it pretty close...DUMOULIN FRERES ET CIE making Guns since 1849 in the little Town of MILMORT..about 15 Kilometers out of Herstal and I'm told, still making Guns! Be nice to see your Shotgun or at the very least a Complete and Comprehensive discription of same...Best...
