.380 Colt Gov Model
I have kept my eyes open for the past year or so hoping to find a .380 Colt Gov model in .380. Last night, I found one for sale for $350.00 nearby. The gun is very clean but shows quite a bit of carry wear and reportedly has had between 400-500 rounds fired though it. I would estimate about 75% of the blueing is left, no rust or pitting. One clip, no holster or original box. I was thinking $250.00 would be closer to actual value but want to make a fair offer to the seller. I know this isn't much info but if anyone has an idea on the range of values for this gun I would appreciate your input. I looked through the auction listing and found none. Thanks

Book value in 80% is 200. Unfortunatly, "book" value is pretty much out of the window when the magical Colt name is mentioned. The current trend of over-inflated Colt pricing continues.
I have recently seen this pistol sell for as much as 575 NIB and 300 for a true junker. Wonerful little guns so don't let book value confuse you with real world pricing.

I HAVE TWO COLT 380'S LISTED ON THIS SITE. IF YOU DON'T BUT THAT GUN PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE IT IS AND I WILL BUY IT. EMAIL duckhunter140@hotmail.com 0 -
Heck $350 sounds like a heck of a deal to me on that pistol. I've seen them just like you described for $450-475 at local shops, sometimes even more. I got lucky and found one at a gunshow for $375, and didn't hesitate to buy it for that price.
The blue book price is out the door, useless on the Govt. 380. Because its a high demand, ideal ccw pistol, and you only find them when someone dies, divorces, or for really high prices.
I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.0 -
For that price, grab it with both hands. 0 -
If it's as you described, easy decision, BUY IT!

Thanks for all the input. I don't like to haggle much, especially if the price is fair to begin with. Seems like this guy has priced his gun at near the right price. I'm taking your collective advise and buying it tonight. Any suggestions for self defense ammo that will work well in this pistol? Thanks in advance.

Remington Golden Saber works well in Ballistic Gelatin. Congradulations on your new prize.
Good Luck.
