I had experience with a brand-new Del-Ton 7.62 upper that wouldn't feed, wouldn't eject, and grouped about 7-9" at 100 when you shot it as a single shot.

The only nice thing I can say about it is they didn't argue about refunding my money. Of course now I'm stuck with about $ 150 in dies, brass, .311 bullets, etc. that I have no use for until I can find one that works.

No, I'm not looking for brands to stay away from, and I've handled both Colt's and Hesse AR's, without any problems or misfires. I was mearly looking for actual encounters with bad AR's. I just actually haven't ever handled a bad AR, and am guessing its just because its one heck of a good design.

The only problems I find are usually bad ammo, or user error. Also bad magazines have alot to do with malfunctions.

A while back I purchased a few military surplus AR-15 magazines for $2 each at a flee market. At the time I didn't have any clue about feed lips and spring tensions and such, so I just got the ones with the most finish left on them. About half of them wouldn't work right. Turned out the feed lips were bent out of shape.

I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.
