Witness pistols
I posted earlier and wanted to put a new post to get some more opinions and express some of mine.Regarding the 9mm the things I have heard on it havemore times than not been first hand experience. Here in Mobile,Al a few months ago a officer was involed in a shooting where both men were armed with 9mm pistols both were it 5 times the officer survived the other man died 6 days later.Just around 3 weeks ago right by my house to men were in a argument where guns were drawn one had a 9mm the other a .45 the man with the 9mm sht the other 7 times before the .45 got one shot kiliing the man with the 9mm the .45 survived.I know this might sound cold but should I have to use a firearm in defense the only life I am looking to save is mine.Nothing guarantees they will stop the attack like death. But as for recoil I am 6'3 and 220#'s and I can double tap my friends 3" .44 Backpacker and have the holes within 2 inches of each other. Not precision accuracy but not too bad either. What do you all think of the .357sig roud?Realyy like the .357 magnum or B.S.?And ye I know it shoots a 9mm bullet but if its like the mag thats fine with me.Recoil is not much of an issue though.Reliability is key.Thank You for all the quick responses. And sorry for the really long post. Also is the 10mm more powerful than the .45acp or have I been mislead? One friend told me it was a .40magnum another told me it was like a +p.45.Thank You All E.Williams

There is an ammunition that is called RBCD Peformance Plus, Platinum
that boasts amazing performance. It blows huge holes in the clay or gelatin and does not exit the back. I have seen it a gun shows, and when I went for my concealed license renewal, the teacher was pushing the ammo so I bought some. It is very expensive, but if it lives up to its reputation, it can do much more damage than even a 45 and not endanger innocent people behind the target nearly so much. It is also legal to buy and carry.
The 9mm says 60 grain TFSP 1900 feet per second, 500 FtLbs. muzzel energy.
According to the sales pitch, hollow points are not tested against clothing. The clothes, pack the hollow point and it never gets to
expand as touted. I have even seen test rounds of hollow point high performance ammo and it seems to be true. The hole was packed with clothing and it never expanded. ( of course someone may know more about it than I do).
I got one 9mm box for my wifes gun and one box of 40 cal for my carry gun. Very expensive, 35.00 a box of 20 rounds.
If it does what it says it will do, the caliber won't matter anymore.
Even the .380 ammunition was devastating in a clay block.
If it proves out, I may even one day get a nice .380 for a carry weapon. I really like the selection of 380 pistols, but until I see that it really does what it claims, I wouldn't trust one to stop a rabbit.

What Eric said. I've used the RBCD round in .32acp and 9mm. They blast a water filled gallon jug to pieces. www.rbcd.net

I have never been attacked by either a gallon jug of water nor a block of gelatin. I put my faith in known shooting statistics against real human targets. That said, I carry .45 autos.
If this wonder-ammo is so devastating in 9mm, think of what it would do in .45!

Shot placement is the most important thing in a gun fight and the 9mm is just like any Hand gun round there is no magic bullet as Hollywood leads us to believe. There are alot of 9mms out there and you do hear negative feedback all the time, maybe there more shootings with the 9mm than some of the others. That kind of speaks for itself. As for the .357sig it has ballistictly and proved itsself on the street with 125gr bullets it is superior to the legendary 125gr .357 magnum. Tough to swallow but true. As for the 10mm it is superior to the .45acp Ballisticaly but has lost is popularity,it is very close to the .41 magnum in power. The .40 was invented foom the 10mm, and took over from there. Its the same case, caliber just shorter. Hope this helps.
