NICKEL: Colt SAA- Have they stop producing those?

For the last 5-6 years, there have been MANY problems- upon being fired- with the NICKEL blowing/flaking/peeling off the cylinder face and/or the muzzle of barrels on Colt SAAs.(I have NICKELED 2nds and early 3rds that I shoot with no problems). For the last year or so, I/we've heard that Colt "has temporarily halted production of NICKELED SAAs". However, they intend to resume production after they have "cleaned out the 'tanks'". The question: Have any of you heard/know if COLT intends to resume the production-or not-of their SAA in NICKEL? ---Personally---My bet is that Colt NICKELED SAAs are a thing of the past. So, here I am at the expert line. What can you tell us? Thank you.

  Give the folks at Colt a call I Think they are now producing these guns through the custom shop.

  Hi Rugster; I've spoken with them in person (recently) and on the phone a year ago. "in a hold position 'til we get the bugs worked out" story. I don't think they're come clean and say it.
