Sig, HK, Beretta or Browning ?
If you had your choice, which .40 cal full size hand
gun you choose? I like the Sig, But also could go to
a HK, Beretta or even a Browning. Thanks for your
expert input.

In my oponion I like the sig, I am by no means putting down the Browning but I have been bit by it as the slide cycled to chamber a new round in live fire. I think you might be ahead to go to the gun store, and feel the guns which one fits your hand best. Which one has the best point of natural aim for you. All three are good Firearms, who knows you might find another Brand you like better than the ones you mentioned. Personally I think the Sig is hard to beat.
Good Luck.

I have a browning in 40 cal. I find it confortable, accurate and dependable, its now my house gun. The market in 40 is vast so just taking advice from people here will get you started, but the best thing i would advize you to do is call your local store that has a range and see what they offer in rentals in this caliber or if they will let you shoot a used one of your choice for a fee. 0 -
SIG..IT'S THE BEST I HAVE AND THE BEST I'VE SHOT. THE OTHERS ARE GREAT ALSO, BUT THE SIG GETS MY VOTE. GD 0 -
I have a Sig 229 and Glock 22, both in 40 and shot a HK in 40 also.
The 229 is nice, but the Glock tames the 40 recoil extremely well. It has a very low recoil and muzzle flip is minimal by comparison. Many people dont like it because of the trigger, but get a #3.5 connector and it will feel great and accuarcy will improve dramatically.
Good luck choosing. See if ou can get to a range and try a few out before you decide though. An extra $40 bucks to rent is better than spending $600 on one and liking another better.
My gun is prettier than yours, and it's a Glock!0 -
There is no substitute for the SIG. HK is a very close second.
A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.0 -
In this order I'd choose:
Glock 35
Sig SP2340
HK USP 40
Browning HP MKIII
Beretta Cougar
Beretta Elite 96
Beretta Elite II 96
Beretta 96
I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.0 -
Of the makers mentioned, I would go with the HK first. Nothing against the others, it fits my hand better and I like the ability to
carry cocked and locked if I want.....0 -
I like the browning myself . Its the best pointing gun I own. I can point it at my target then look down my sights and I'm always in line with my target. I also own a glock and a s&w and I can not do that with either one of them. Just my 2 cents. 0 -
Thats the one main thing I like about my Glock, is that it just seems to be on target wherever I point it. I guess it the grip angle.

Buy them all
Actually, I must say the Sig would probably be my first choice. If you are going with a full size gun, you might seriously consider getting a P220 .45 ACP. Although I am a 1911 diehard, this has to be the best full size semi auto combat gun. I'm not knocking 40, but once you are getting a big gun, it's better to go with either a hi-cap 9mm or the big .45 bore.

There is something about the way a Sig feels in you hand, especially the 229. The only other gun I know of that has the same feel to it is the Beretta Cougar.
